I passed a university building on my way home today, which has a tower at one corner which has one floor more than the building it's attached to. And it struck me that I'd quite like to live in one. Not any existing tower, nor an especially tall one, just one that is tall enough. It'd stand somewhere so that I from the upper floors would be able to see quite far over fir-clad hills and valleys, and as far from anywhere as logistically feasible - though since I'm just imagining, that could be quite a ways away.
On the bottom floor there'd be a hallway, and a kitchen, and perhaps a laundry room, if that isn't down in the cellar below (yes, I'd like to have a cellar for my tower
Going up the last set of stairs, one would get up onto the roof. Here I'd be able to spend evenings just watching the stars. (That is something I long to be able to; I can't even see any from my window, with that streetlight at just the right height to shine straight into my apartment.) From there I'd be able to look out over the surroundings, peacefully enjoying the clean air and that smell you get after rain, thinking of nothing in particular.
*sighs*
It's a nice dream, but unless I pick a winning lottery ticket (and the chance of that happening is nil, as I don't feel like spending money to minutely increase my chances to just above nil), or write a bestseller or two, that's about all it'll be.

So what? I'm not your average girl...
Perhaps a bit of a silly question, but... Do I know you already?
